GRADING SYSTEM

KINDERGARTEN – 5th Grade
Student Performance Levels
4 = Exceeds standard
3 = Meets standard
2 = Progressing toward standard
1 = Limited progress toward standard
/ = Not introduced
STUDENT TRAITS (Grades K-5)
Each student is evaluated on the traits that District 12 has identified as essential for educating the whole child. These traits are scored using a 1-4 scale with a 1 meaning the train is almost never observed and a 4 meaning the trait is always observed.

PRIMARY GRADE LEVELS (Grades 1-3)
The following indicators are used to report student progress:
Indicators of Progress
H = High Quality
S = Satisfactory Quality
I = Improvement in Progress
N = Needs Improvement
U = Unsatisfactory Progress
/ = Not Introduced/Not Applicable
Level at which student is working
G = Grade Level
AG = Above Grade Level

INTERMEDIATE GRADE LEVELS (Grades 4-5)
The following indicators are used to report student progress:

REPORT CARDS


Report cards are provided 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimesters for students 1st - 5th grade and each semester for students in Kindergarten. At the midpoint of each grading period (approximately 6 weeks into the period), progress reports are provided.
